The nine-year Riverine Recovery Project has released its final report today detailing the significant environmental benefits delivered by the project to wetlands and floodplains along the River Murray in South Australia.
River Murray water users and the general public can now access daily data on volumes of water released through the barrages in South Australia – all at the click of a mouse button.
The third in a series of community workshops to discuss ways to reinstate natural habitat conditions in Bookmark Creek was held in Renmark last week, with targeted community members able to view and discuss conceptual designs for the first time.
Coorong fishers are reporting signs of the slow recovery to parts of the iconic wetland thanks largely to the delivery of water for the environment.
“The Coorong and in particular the South Lagoon is still in a highly degraded state so while we’ve been getting flow, additional flow could go a long way to helping the recovery of the Coorong.” That’s one of the resounding messages from a new short film.
