Report on Heritage Protection
Section 5A (1) of the Heritage Places Act 1993 states that the Council will provide advice to the Minister on matters relating to:
i. trends, shortcomings and opportunities with respect to heritage protection at the State and local level and, insofar as may be relevant, at the national level; and
ii. the development and effectiveness of heritage conservation programs, policies, initiatives and incentives; and
iii. the operation and enforcement of the Heritage Places Act 1993.
Current report
On the 23 September 2024 the South Australian Heritage Council provided its latest Heritage Protection Report to the Hon Dr Susan Close MP, the then Minister for Climate, Environment and Water.
Subsequently, a copy of this report was provided to the Hon Emily Bourke MLC appointed to the role of Minister for Climate, Environment and Water in March 2026. The Minister was provided a copy of this report on 29 April 2026.
