How do I become an Accredited Consultant?
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible to attend Accreditation Training:
- A minimum of 7 years industry experience post qualification in a field relevant to the management and assessment of vegetation condition
- Have and be able to demonstrate knowledge of plant identification
- Demonstrate high level skills in report writing when completing training and training exercises
- Provide a current CV
- Agree to the conditions of accreditation as listed in this Procedure and Accredited Consultant Policy.

Consultants will need to become Accredited by the Native Vegetation Council to develop Data Reports, SEB Management Plans. Accredited Consultants are trained to undertake the Bushland Assessment Method, Scattered Tree Assessment Method and the Rangelands Assessment Method to assess native vegetation.
The Native Vegetation Council, offers training approximately once a year and registration is essential. Timing of training is determined based on interest.

Arborists and Regulation 8(6) Safety
Native Vegetation Trained Arborists conduct assessments and prepare Tree Risk Assessment Reports for clearances proposed to manage vegetation that poses an unacceptable risk to the safety of people and property.
Native Vegetation Trained Arborists must submit their assessment in accordance with Regulation 8(6) - safety of persons or property and will use this template for the assessment.
If you are an arborist wishing to become a Native Vegetation Trained Arborist under Regulation 8(6) Safety, please contact The Native Vegetation Council via nvc@sa.gov.au. The timing of trainings will be determined based on interest.
