Report a suspected illegal clearance

Clearance of native vegetation without consent or approval is an offence. Clearing native vegetation without approval can attract a ‘stop work’ order, fines and even result in criminal proceedings.

Please note that the Native Vegetation Council monitors any loss in quantity or quality of native vegetation through satellite imagery as part of the Change Detection Program. Changes detected that may be breaches of the Act are referred to the Compliance Team for further investigation.

If you suspect an illegal clearance has occurred, first check the Clearance Application Register to help determine if the clearance is authorised, then make a report below. All reports are strictly confidential, and the identity of informants is not released.
