Submit an application

All applications are submitted through the online portal.

We recommend that you plan ahead as submitted applications can take up to 12 weeks for processing.

Note: For clearance applications associated with a development application, the Native Vegetation Council does not provide final clearance approval until the applicant’s Development Approval is confirmed.

Which application form should I use?

All applications to clear native vegetation are submitted through the online portal—but the type of application depends on what kind of clearance you’re proposing.

• If your activity is listed in the Native Vegetation Regulations 2017, apply under the Regulations. You can check 'Which rules apply? The Act vs the Regulation' to see whether your proposed activity is covered by the Regulations.

• If your activity is not covered by the Regulations, apply under the Act. Note: Applications under the Act have an application fee of $729. The application fee reduces to $182.25 per individual tree up to a maximum of four trees. i.e. the application fee for 2 trees is $364.50. The portal will calculate this for you as part of your application. Note: Fees are indexed every financial year.
