There are several awards that recognise excellence in the building, conservation and promotion of South Australia's heritage. There are also awards for tourism operators that promote a better understanding of history, heritage or culture.

The annual award program of the Australian Institute of Architects (SA) includes a category that recognises excellence in a built or conservation planning project involving conservation or adaptive reuse of a heritage structure.

The South Australian Tourism Awards includes a category that recognises tourism operators that promote a greater understanding of history, heritage or culture.

The Property Council of Australia Innovation and Excellence Awards includes a Heritage and Adaptive Reuses category. It recognises innovation and excellence in re-design/redevelopment that provides a new use for an existing building. Entry is open to members of the Property Council of Australia only.

Some local councils also operate heritage incentive schemes which include awards. Contact your local council for more information.
