The South Australian Government has introduced all-new Koala State number plates.
Plates will cost $151* for an existing vehicle registration, with $50 from each sale going toward a fund for the state’s wildlife rescue and rehabilitation sector.
The Department for Environment and Water (DEW) is developing a grants program to distribute the funds raised through this initiative. This has been informed largely through consultation with the wildlife rescue and rehabilitation sector.
Grant applications are expected to open in 2024 and more information will be made available on this page.
*Koala Plates will cost $120 for new vehicle registration or $151 for an existing vehicle registration, both inclusive of a $70 plate fee and additional $50 for the wildlife fund. A $31 number plate reallocation fee will be applicable for already registered SA vehicles.
