Our Coorong | Our Coast

Our Coorong | Our Coast is a $3.3 million project funded by the Australian Government’s Regional Land Partnerships initiative of the National Landcare Program, and the Limestone Coast Landscape Board.

This project will help improve the ecological character of the Coorong and enhance habitat for threatened species along the Limestone Coast through works such as pest and weed control, developing site plans to protect migratory shorebirds, revegetation and monitoring.

It will build and improve the resilience of the Coorong, much of which has been lost over time.

The Our Coorong | Our Coast project is partnering with BirdLife Australia and Friends of Shorebirds SE to deliver meaningful, on-ground project outcomes, aimed at restoring habitat for threatened species in the Coorong.

Healthy Coorong, Healthy Basin complements the land-based work of Our Coorong | Our Coast through improving the health of the Coorong lagoons, particularly in the south, and the water-dependent ecosystems that rely on them.

Our Coorong | Our Coast is expected to be completed by mid-2023.
