Plans, strategies and policies in preparation

During the preparation of some management plans, strategies and policies, the department provides an opportunity for stakeholders and the public to be involved in the planning process. 

To make a submission or comment on a plan, strategy or policy in development, refer to the information below or visit the yourSAy website.

The following plans, strategies and policies are currently in preparation:

Arkaroola Protection Area Management Plan

Status: Final plan in preparation - draft plan released for consultation (consultation closed).


Coorong National Park Management Plan – Draft Amendments

West Kangaroo Island Parks Management Plan

The public are invited to make a preplanning submission on the management of the following wilderness protection areas which will be included in the development of a new park management plan that will set the long-term vision for the parks of West Kangaroo Island:

• Cape Bouguer Wilderness Protection Area • Cape Gantheaume Wilderness Protection Area • Cape Torrens Wilderness Protection Area • Ravine des Casoars Wilderness Protection Area • Western River Wilderness Protection Area.

Status: preplanning submissions are invited from the public until Thursday 10 September 2020. More information: background details and how to get involved.

Witjira National Park Management Plan

Status: draft plan released for consultation (consultation period closed).
