Pam is an Honorary Research Associate for the State Herbarium. Her research is in the macrofungi, their taxononomy/ecology, habitat, phenology and their interactions with other organisms and their habitats.

Pam collects the larger fungi, documents them (macroscopic and microscopic characters) and deposits them in the State Herbarium.

Her interests are general and are not specialised to one particular group. However, the Ascomycetes, truffles (both ascomycete and basidiomycete) and desert fungi are of particular interest.
