Two people working together on control of plant weeds in Belair National Park

Native Vegetation Council (NVC) Restoration grants are for long term (5 - 10 year) projects that will provide a significant benefit to native vegetation by improving condition and increasing protection through a new Heritage Agreement. As such, these grants are not available for areas that are already protected e.g. by Heritage Agreement.

Grant rounds will be offered twice a year and will be open to select regions each round.

Round One was open to landowners in Northern and Yorke, Eyre Peninsula and SA Arid Land Landscapes SA regions and resulted in 8 successful applications sharing $6.84 million to restore 17,553 hectares of native vegetation.

Round Two was open to landowners in Murraylands and Riverland, Limestone Coast and Hills and Fleurieu and closed in May 2025. To date, 7 applications across the Limestone Coast and Hills and Fleurieu have been approved sharing $1.2 million to restore 248 hectares of native vegetation. An outcome on the applications from Murraylands and Riverland region is expected in the coming month.

Round Three will open on the 18th August 2025 and close 8th November 2025 and is expected to be open to landowners within Northern and Yorke, Eyre Peninsula and Hills and Fleurieu regions. More information will be available closer to the opening date.
