The Climate Group Under2 Coalition

The South Australian Government is a founding member of The Climate Group’s Under2 Coalition (formerly the States and Regions Alliance). The Climate Group is the world’s premier sub-national government climate action network. The Climate Group’s  Under2 Coalition brings together sub-national government leaders to influence international dialogue, to share expertise, and to show the impact of sub-national government actions to address climate change. The South Australian Government is an Under2 Coalition Steering Group Member.

RegionsAdapt

The South Australian Government was a founding member of RegionsAdapt - a global initiative for regional governments to take concrete actions, cooperate and report efforts in climate adaptation.

The Compact of States and Regions

The Compact of States and Regions is supported by the United Nations and is a partnership between The Climate Group, R20, nrg4SD and CDP, supported by the UN, Climate-KIC, Center for the New Energy Economy (CNEE), ICLEI and ENCORE. It was announced at the UN Climate Summit in New York in 2014.

In April 2015, South Australia signed the Compact of States and Regions.  This Compact commits the South Australian Government to report on targets and emissions reduction progress annually at an international level.

Climate KIC Australia 

South Australia is a founding partner of Climate KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Community) Australia, which is a partnership between private, research and non-government organisations to foster innovation and help businesses to pioneer products and services for solutions to a changing climate.
