Applying for a new permit online

Reapplying for your permit (online or paper-based form)
Following the 2022 reapplication process which presented a number of challenges for permit holders, we have been working towards a refined reapplication process to ensure a fast and efficient way in which permit holders can reapply.
The new reapplication process has been streamlined. You will be asked to review, confirm and finalise existing information. Providing no changes are made to existing information, automatic approval will be granted for eligible permit types.
This new process has been made possible thanks to the hard work of permit holders last year in providing the department with up-to-date and accurate information/documentation relevant to the application criteria.
Permit reapplications for existing permit holders will be available from 16 June 2023 and should be completed prior to the expiry of existing permits to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
Reapplying for your permit online
To reapply for a 2023 permit via the WPS you will need to have an existing account.
Existing permit holders will receive an email when permit reapplications are available. This will include detailed information on the reapplication process. Alternatively, step-by-step instructions can be found within our how to reapply guide.
Reapplying for your permit manually (paper-based form)
Paper reapplication forms are available for permit holders who do not have access to the online permits system. To receive a paper form, please contact the Fauna Permits Unit:

Existing permit holders can apply to add species and/or species group endorsements to your permit by completing the appropriate additional species application form below.

Note: Holders of a permit to sell protected animals (kangaroo meat processor) that wish to add additional premises can contact the Kangaroo Management Program on (08) 8648 5318 or kmp@sa.gov.au prior to submitting their reapplication.
