Tony Knight’s shot of The Sugarloaf at Hallet Cove is one of this year’s Top 20.

Initial judging has now taken place and the Top 20 photos available for viewing from across four categories which included maritime and coastal Heritage, State Heritage places to visit, Professional and Young Talent.

Now it’s the public’s chance to get involved by checking them out and voting for their favourite by midnight Sunday 21 November.

The photo that receives the most votes will be awarded the ‘People’s Choice Award’.

David Hanna, Executive Officer with the SA Heritage Council, said this year’s competition has captured some stunning photos which made the task a difficult one for the three judges.

“Heritage SnAps 2021 was about showcasing, through the public’s lense, South Australia’s 2,307 wonderful State Heritage Places, 17 State Heritage Areas and celebrating our maritime and coastal heritage,” David said.

“The competition gives budding photographers a great incentive to get out and explore the state’s iconic and lesser-known heritage places.

“And it’s a great opportunity for photographers to learn about the story behind the place and why these heritage places are significant.

“A big thank you to our sponsors, including Restaurant Botanic, that have helped make this year’s competition a reality.”
