Prescribed burn at Piccadilly

A prescribed burn is planned on private land near the intersection of Gores and Sprigg roads in the Mount Lofty Ranges on Thursday, 8 October, weather conditions permitting. The prescribed burn will start at 12:00pm and is likely to be completed by 6:00pm. Flames and smoke 
may be visible within the burn area for several days.


• The area to be burnt is 2.9 hectares. 
• This is a landscape protection burn.
• No roads will be closed throughout the burn.
• Gores Road will be restricted to a single lane.
• Smoke may be visible from Gores, Sprigg and Piccadilly roads.


National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) crews will remain on site until safe.


NPWS conducts a statewide program of prescribed burns to reduce the spread and intensity of bushfires, protect communities and enhance biodiversity.
Prescribed burning is just one tool used to reduce fuel loads across strategic areas of public and private land.
Prescribed burns will only be carried out when it is deemed safe to do so and may be cancelled at short notice
