Prescribed burn at Mylor

Date posted: 16 May 2025

A prescribed burn is planned at Mylor in the Adelaide Hills on Monday, weather conditions permitting.

• The prescribed burn will start at 11am Monday 19 May and is likely to be completed by 6pm the same day.

• The area to be burnt is 3 hectares across three separate blocks of private land between Stock Road, Leslie Creek Road and Hill Street.

• This is part of a series of burns within the Mylor area which aim to reduce the impact of bushfire on life, property and natural values.

• Leslie Creek Road will have a single lane closure between 1pm and 4pm. The walking track west of Hill Street will be closed during the burn.

• Smoke may be visible from Stock Road, Leslie Creek Road and Aldgate Valley Road during the burn.

• National Parks and Wildlife Service crews will remain on site until safe.

NPWSSA conducts a statewide program of prescribed burns to reduce the spread and intensity of bushfires, protect communities and enhance biodiversity. Prescribed burning is just one tool used to reduce fuel loads across strategic areas of public and private land.

Prescribed burns will only be carried out when it is deemed safe to do so and may be cancelled at short notice.
