More upgrades for Belair National Park Adventure Playground
South Australians can have their say on the next stage of upgrades to the Belair National Park Adventure Playground.
The playground’s beloved concrete tunnels and timber fort will be retained and upgraded as part of a $1.2 million investment by the Malinauskas Government to ensure the equipment continues to delight children into the future.
The first stage of upgrades at the playground were completed in December 2025, including three new slides, a climbing rope pyramid, monkey bars, three swings, a rock-climbing wall and an emu rocker.
The upgrades used sustainably sourced materials, as well as a small amount of salvaged fallen timber from within Belair National Park. The soft-fall ground cover used is made from recycled tire rubber.
It also features accessible equipment to support children of all abilities to get active, including a trampoline, nest swing, storyboard, xylophone and non-verbal communications board.
Two new accessible carparks and accessible trails from the carpark to the playground and toilet block form part of the inclusive space, which is located in the middle of the picnic area and centred around an existing tree.
Public consultation on the next stage of upgrades to Belair Adventure Playground can be submitted via YourSAy until Friday, July 24, 2026, at: yoursay.sa.gov.au/belair-playground-upgrades
