Project update - Summer 2024

Detailed design of new infrastructure to improve water management and delivery at Tolderol Game Reserve is currently in progress and expected to be complete in early 2024. A comprehensive site elevation survey of Tolderol Game Reserve was undertaken in early 2023 to inform the design of improved wetland management at the site. This is the first time a detailed survey has been undertaken at the site.

With detailed survey works at the site now complete, bay preparation works are planned from February 2024, which includes levelling, slashing and bank and channel remediation. To enable bay preparation, selected basins will remain dry until works are complete, with machinery and vehicles present onsite during these works.

To maintain suitable shorebird habitat at the site, supplemental water will be delivered to selected basins throughout 2024. Tolderol Game Reserve will remain open to the public throughout this stage of works.
