RSPCA get a boost to tackle animal welfare
The State Government has increased funding to the RSPCA by $1 million over four years to enforce animal welfare laws.
The additional funding will support the RSPCA to investigate incidences of animal cruelty or animal welfare concern.
RSPCA inspectors play an important role within the community, working with animal owners to educate and advise them on appropriate animal care.
Where serious animal mistreatment is identified, RSPCA inspectors have the powers to seize animals and initiate prosecutions.
The additional funding will assist the RSPCA to enforce animal welfare laws for both companion animals and livestock.
