A greener Adelaide means healthier communities

As part of the Healthy Parks Healthy People SA initiative, the Department for Health and Wellbeing and the Department for Environment and Water have launched a Better Greener campaign to raise awareness about how green spaces support people’s health and wellbeing, our urban ecosystem and our local economy.

Research shows that access to high-quality public and private green space is key to maintaining sustainable and liveable cities and healthy and connected communities.

There is evidence that most of Adelaide’s metropolitan areas have experienced a decline in green space in recent years. As our cities grow and densify, the design and delivery of green open spaces has become a key challenge for the urban planning, health and environment sectors.

As part of the Better Greener campaign we’d like to hear what green space means to you, because we believe a growing Adelaide is better greener.
