2. See a wombat in Brookfield Conservation park
Head to Brookfield Conservation Park, near Blanchetown, to try your luck at seeing a southern hairy-nosed wombat – South Australia’s faunal emblem! Early mornings or late afternoons are your best bet for catching a glimpse. 3. Cultural guided tour at Ngaut Ngaut Conservation Park
Take a guided tour with the Nganguraku people and learn about one of South Australia’s most significant Aboriginal cultural sites. 4. Birdwatching in Kinchina Conservation Park
Get those Binoculars at the ready! The Rocky Gully creek meanders through the park to the north, with beautiful granite outcrop forming features which provide the perfect habitat for a number of native bird species. Patience might reward you with a sighting of several rare birds, including the diamond firetail, restless flycatcher or a hooded robin. It’s a peaceful place to connect with nature and test your ID skills.
5. Mountain Biking in Kinchina Conservation Park
Just outside Murray Bridge, Kinchina Conservation Park has become a go-to for mountain biking. The trails cater to all levels, with scenic views and native vegetation making it a great day out on two wheels. The trails listed on Kinchina's See and Do page are suggested routes only, but feel free to create your own route by following any of the designated tracks within the park!
6. 4WD in Ngarkat Conservation Park
Ngarkat Conservation Park is located in South Australia’s south-eastern corner about 200 kilometres south east of Adelaide. Its rugged terrain is ideal for 4WD enthusiasts. Check out all the suggested trips on the Ngarkat See and Do page, and enjoy the sand dunes and Mallee scrub for that true remote off-road escape!
