6 big wins for South Australia’s environment

There’s plenty to celebrate this World Environment Day. Here’s 6 great things SA can be proud of this year.

World Environment Day on 5 June is an opportunity to celebrate the natural world around us and the many ways that we connect with the environment.

It’s also the perfect time to look back at the events that have changed the environment for the better over the past year.

Whether it’s the development of a new national park or a heroic rescue of a stranded whale, we’re heading in the right direction.

South Australia has lots of reasons to celebrate this World Environment Day – here are six of the best:

For the perfect way to celebrate World Environment Day, why not take some time out and immerse yourself in the great outdoors?

Head to your nearest national park and breathe in your surrounds, explore the newly-opened Myponga Reservoir or plan a visit to Cleland Wildlife Park to get to know Fred the wombat.

Or take advantage of the season and go for a whale-watching road-trip, or cherish the environment from the comfort of your own backyard with a spot of gardening.

Whether it’s on World Environment Day today, on the weekend, or even sometime after that, it’s never too late to celebrate the natural world around us.
