Gambier Islands Group

Thanks to a diverse range of marine life, Gambier Islands Group Marine Park an ideal place to snorkel and dive.

The park is centred around an offshore island group, south of the Thorny Passage Marine Park, with its rocky shores and reefs home to blue devilfish, bullseyes, globefish and numerous species of invertebrates. You’ll also find leafy sea dragons, catsharks and large blue gropers that can grow up to 1.7m and weigh up to 40 kg. Remember to take a torch to illuminate the brilliantly-coloured sponge and soft corals that line cave walls.

Fishing is also popular here, with fishing charters regularly visiting the area.

Access to Gambier Islands Group Marine Park is from Port Lincoln.
