Western Mount Lofty Ranges water allocation plan adopted
Water resources in the Western Mount Lofty Ranges were prescribed in 2005. Work began soon after to develop a water allocation plan that would guide the fair and sustainable management of water resources across the region. Extensive community and industry involvement was integral to the planning process.
Meeting the needs of existing water users is a priority of the water allocation planning
and licensing process, while still ensuring the health of the environment.
The department delivers a range of permitting and licensing processes that are key to successfully implementing the WAP and securing sustainable water supplies.
