Become a Coastal Ambassador

Expressions of interest are now closed for the 2021 program.

South Australia has stunning coastlines, with unique and amazing animals and plant life living in the ocean and on our beaches. Become a Coastal Ambassador and help to conserve Adelaide’s coastal environment.

What is a Coastal Ambassador?

Coastal Ambassadors have an interest in coast and marine conservation and want to learn as much as they can about these environments. They are community champions who willingly share knowledge within their community and actively participate in helping to protect and conserve the coast.

About the program

The Coastal Ambassador training and mentoring program is run by Green Adelaide and funded by the landscape levy. The program presents a series of expert talks, workshops and field trips to support, educate, inspire and mentor individuals about our coast and marine environments and what can be done to help conserve them.

The program is open to anyone living in the Green Adelaide region and is free for participants. Interactive field trips such as supervised snorkelling and kayaking excursions allow participants to gain knowledge by actively enjoying these spectacular marine environments.

All activities are held on weekends and one evening. This highly sought after program accepts 20 placements each year.
