The Australian Government has committed $17 million for a new project to improve shorebird and wetland habitat across South Australia's Coorong, Lower Lakes, Murray Mouth and South East landscape.
Vital wetland habitat will be restored at a significant cultural and ecological site in the Lower Lakes as part of a $4 million investment by the Australian Government and the Government of South Australia.
Healthy Coorong, Healthy Basin (HCHB) Program Leader Dr Nadine Kelly was recently invited to present to the 79th National Conference of the Murray Darling Association (MDA), held in Murray Bridge in September 2023.
Widespread ecological benefits have been observed along the River Murray system in the year since the 2022-23 flood.
