The Weekly is DEWNR’s internal e-newsletter, which consolidates most organisation-wide internal communications.
Stories appearing in The Weekly aim to meet one of the following objectives:
- provide staff with information to help them do their jobs
- help staff understand the breadth, depth and strategic direction of the work that DEWNR undertakes, and how this aligns with DEWNR’s purpose
- promote and celebrate staff achievements (individual or team)
- increase employee engagement and connection to the agency
- help staff understand who’s who in the wider organisation
All DEWNR staff
Staff are encouraged to contribute content for The Weekly by filling out the submission form. Submissions must clearly meet one of the objectives above, and be relevant for the ‘all-staff’ audience.
Word count: aim for no more than 200 words. Dot points are welcome.
Photos/Images: horizontal images are required, measuring a minimum of 680px x 390px. Ensure a caption is provided, detailing who is pictured (name and job title) or what the image shows.
Content is reviewed and edited as necessary by The Weekly Team, and sent back to you for fact-checking and approval.
Content needs to be submitted by COB Friday to be considered for the next week’s edition of The Weekly.
It will then be reviewed and edited by The Weekly team and sent back for fact-checking and approval. The final story will need to be signed off and sent back to us by COB Monday.
Note: If a story is not particularly time-sensitive, it may be held off until another edition at the discretion of The Weekly team.
The Weekly e-newsletter is sent out to all staff on Wednesdays, besides weeks with public holidays or if there are any unforeseen delays, in which case it will go out on the Thursday.
Each story’s readership is reviewed in the week after publishing, to give The Weekly Team an idea of how well it’s received by our audience. Readership statistics are reported on every three months and provided to the Community Engagement Director.
