SA Women's Suffrage celebrated with yoga

DEW’s Women in Leadership subcommittee will commemorate the 125th anniversary of women getting the vote in South Australia with its final session of Yoga in the Park at Belair National Park on 18 December.

Commemorate the 125th anniversary of women getting the vote in SA DEW’s final session of Yoga in the Park at Belair National Park

This final session will be held at the Karka Pavilion in Belair at 9.30am.

Come along and bring your yoga mat for some chill-out time in the park while helping to celebrate the 1894 constitutional amendment that enabled SA women to vote – making SA the second ever place in the world to do so.

The event is designed to put a spotlight on the women’s suffrage movement to celebrate the significant impact that it has had on society, as well as highlighting the importance of women within our community.

Members of the public and DEW staff are encouraged to attend and experience a connection with the environment while relaxing with yoga to celebrate and reflect on this special landmark event.

An experienced yoga instructor will run the session, with participants encouraged to dress in the suffragette colours of purple and golden yellow as part of the celebrations.

Participants will need to bring a yoga mat or towel for the session. Children attending the sessions must attend with a supervising parent or guardian.

Register for attendance via Eventbrite.
