You’ve only got just over a week to get to the toiletry aisle in your local supermarket or chemist and buy toiletries to donate to DEW’s Share the Dignity ‘It’s in the Bag’ appeal donation drive on White Ribbon Day on 20 November.
In previous years DEW staff have generously donated essential products, which have been packaged together on White Ribbon Day ready for women in need.
Share the Dignity is an Australian charity who partner with local shelters and charitable organisations who support homeless, at-risk and women experiencing domestic violence.
Each year Share the Dignity’s ‘It’s in the Bag’ campaign aims to give vulnerable women and girls handbags and backpacks filled with essential hygiene products.
This donation drive is one way that you can raise awareness and support the prevention of violence against women. Place any of the following items in donation boxes placed in the kitchen area of your office by 20 November:
- ·new or used bags (handbags, backpacks)
- ·new underwear
- sealed sanitary items
- baby products.
Donations will then be collected by DEW’s White Ribbon working group and dropped off at a local Bunnings store and will be used to create Christmas gifts for women in need.
Please register your interest with Water Licensing Branch Water and River Murray Division Correspondence and Reporting Officer Koral Lane if you’d like to get involved in supporting Share the Dignity's ‘It’s in the Bag’ appeal.
