Modernist architecture exhibition opens in February

Heritage South Australia, in partnership with the University of SA and Phillips/Pilkington Architects, will hold an exhibition on SA Modernist Architecture in the foyer of DEW’s Waymouth Street Office between 10-21 February.

SA Modernist Architecture will be celebrated at DEW’s Waymouth St building

It follows a larger exhibition held in November last year at the Office for Design and Architecture SA in Leigh Street, with the purpose of demonstrating the variety of places that constitute our state’s heritage.

The Waymouth Street exhibition will present architectural works from around SA, dating from 1934 to 1977, some of which are state or local heritage-listed, and others not yet recognised.

The exhibition reveals the diversity of modernist buildings constructed during these years and aims to raise awareness of the architecture of this period.
