Heritage South Australia holds new exhibition at Waymouth St

Following the South Australian Modernist Architecture exhibition in February, Heritage South Australia are planning to hold another exhibition in the Waymouth Street Ground Floor Foyer from 16-30 March, which will feature photographs of Post War Places of Worship (1945-1990).

In partnership with the University of SA’s Architecture Museum, Heritage South Australia commissioned a research project in 2018 into Post War Places of Worship (1945-1990).

The purpose of the project was to gain an understanding of the relative significance of surviving places of worship from this period, and in particular their historical and/or architectural context.

The project also identified a list of places to be considered for future assessment for listing as State Heritage Places.

As a result of this research a range of photographs were assembled on key places of worship which demonstrate the development of religious architecture in SA from 1945 to 1990.
