Book in now for online Cross-Cultural Competency training

You are encouraged to participate in free Cross-Cultural Competency training, which is currently up and running in a new format and being delivered through Microsoft Teams by DEW’s First Nations Partnerships and Reconciliation Unit.

The first session, Understanding Privileging, was successfully run last month.

First Nations Partnerships and Reconciliation Unit Acting Aboriginal Workforce and Reconciliation Coordinator Charlene Crothers says being able to run the training online had proved to be a useful tool for delivering training to regional staff and yet still providing an interactive and personal session for attendees to engage with each other.

‘We had some really positive feedback from participants, who said the training and the resources really opened up their eyes to privileging,’ she said.

‘They said it was great that the sessions were now through Microsoft Teams so staff like themselves in the regions can participate.’

The next training session, Understanding Racism: Our Responsibilities on First Nations Country will be delivered on 13 May.

If you haven’t completed the training, you are encouraged to enrol through the DEW Corporate Training Calendar (internal access only).
