HIRM reminder: reporting criteria remain in place to protect our people

It is critical that the agency is immediately aware of exposures to coronavirus to ensure the safety of staff, volunteers and other workers.

Reporting exposures via HIRM remains an essential tool in informing managers and Executives, and will help DEW know which personnel and sites may be impacted and what steps are necessary to protect workers.

For this reason the following criteria remain in place for immediately advising your line manager:

  • All incidents where you have been in close contact with a known case of COVID-19
  • If you are being tested for COVID-19
  • If you have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Your manager will work with you and the Workplace Safety and Wellbeing Unit to ensure all incidents that meet these criteria are reported in HIRM. To date 23 staff have reported being tested, all have received negative test results.

Flu vaccination reminder as restrictions ease

All staff are encouraged to receive a flu vaccination through their local medical practitioner or pharmacy. DEW will reimburse you with up to $20 of the costs associated with the vaccination. Information on how to claim the reimbursement can be found here. More information about the flu vaccine can be found here.

Any questions about the flu vaccination process can be directed to steven.bailey2@sa.gov.au or 8463 3763.

You can find out more in the update, which can be found on the COVID-19 page (internal access only).
