Coping with depression

If you’re one of the 3 million Australians who are living with depression, you know that it’s not always easy to identify its cause or change difficult circumstances. What’s most important is that you recognise the symptoms and seek support.

You may be depressed if, for more than 2 weeks, you've felt sad, down or miserable most of the time, have lost interest or pleasure in usual activities or have experienced a range of other signs and symptoms.

Don’t suffer in silence. Speaking to your doctor is a good start, or visit Beyond Blue and use their online chat service, join a community forum, email them or call 1300 22 4636, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
