Opportunity to help shape the future of Belair Golf Course and Country Club

The recent return of Belair Golf Course and Country Club to the Department for Environment and Water provides a unique opportunity to shape the site’s future as part of Belair National Park.

The site covers more than 50 hectares in the western portion of the park and includes the function centre, club rooms and gazebo.

Community groups, non-government organisations, and businesses will be invited to formally submit proposals for the site, but first, we’d like to hear from the community to understand what they value most about Belair National Park and what should be considered in deciding future uses for the site.

We are also keen to hear from businesses, NGOs and community groups about how the former Belair Golf Course and Country Club site could be used.

Community feedback and information about potential business opportunities will be used to help develop an expression of interest prospectus for the site, ensuring submissions align with community values and the content meets business needs.

Belair National Park is South Australia’s oldest national park and attracts around 500,000 visitors each year, so it’s important that park visitors have a say about the future of this site.

The park offers a variety of activities and facilities such as walking, horse riding and mountain biking, tennis courts and cricket pitches, picnic facilities, State Flora, and the heritage listed iconic Victorian residence, Old Government House. It is also home to a range of native plants and animals.

Now seeking your views

Let us know what you value about Belair National Park and what needs to be considered in deciding future uses for the Belair Golf Course and Country Club site by completing a short 5 minute survey.

The survey will remain open until 30 June 2018.

All feedback received by 30 June will contribute to developing the expression of interest prospectus, to ensure future plans for the site meet the needs of the community, the environment and the South Australian Government.
