There are nine shipwreck trails that have been established along the South Australian coast and River Murray. These trails explore the ships' graveyards and their abandoned vessels.
There are interpretive signs along the trails next to each wreck site - either on shore or underwater. The signs highlight the history and archaeological significance of the vessels, as well as telling the story of the region in which the vessels now lie.
The trails can be discovered by land, boat or underwater and provide an insight into the history of the state's maritime industry.
