Bush food collection
Bush food is the use of native plant material as cuisine. Bush food collection can be for personal use or for sale.
Bush Food Collection Permits will not be granted where the proposed collection involves species with conservation concerns, or where collection would threaten populations.
There are no fees associated with applying for, or being granted, a permit.
How long does a permit last?
Collection permits are valid for a maximum of twelve months from the date of issue. However, Bush Food Collection Permits expire on 30 March annually.
A permit may be revoked where it can be shown that the permit holder has breached or failed to comply with permit conditions, as stipulated on the permit and in the native plant material collection policy documents.
