Good Living is the magazine-style blog that connects you with South Australia’s natural wonders, highlights fun and family activities and unlocks the state’s environmental and heritage treasures. It’s chatty, engaging and mobile friendly – an easy way to bring the environment into your busy life.
Join the conversation and share your stories and photos of the things that make our natural environment so special.
To celebrate the launch of Good Living we are offering one lucky reader the chance to stay in a former lighthouse keepers’ cottage on Kangaroo Island. The prize includes return car ferry transfers for one car and a pass to visit major Kangaroo Island attractions including Seal Bay, Kelly Hill Caves and Flinders Chase National Park.
Here's a video message from Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources Chief Executive Sandy Pitcher introducing the blog and announcing the competition.

Hi I’m Sandy Pitcher – I’m here to tell you about our exciting new magazine-style blog – it’s called Good Living.
In Good Living we’ll introduce you to weird and wonderful animals and plants, we’ll show you natural wonders – you can look at these for your next school holiday itinerary, your ideas for weekend relaxation, and you can look at unlocking science and history of some of South Australia’s iconic spots.
To launch Good Living, we’re going to giveaway to one lucky reader – or viewer – the chance to win a unique family weekend away in Kangaroo Island. You’ll have the chance – if you’re the lucky winner – to stay in a former lighthouse keeper’s cottage and visit all of Kangaroo Island’s amazing tourism attractions.
All you need to do is tell us about how the South Australian environment contributes to Good Living for you and your family.
For me, I love spending time on the weekend with my kids, whether it’s in Cleland or the Zoo, wandering around the Botanic Gardens, or even the occasional camping trip in some of South Australia’s amazing national parks.
So good luck with the competition, I look forward to hearing from you and I can’t wait to see all of the entries that we receive. Enjoy Good Living.
The competition has now closed. Winners will be announced shortly.
