Our School Holiday Program returns for 5-13 year olds on Monday 16 April, with brand new activities at Adelaide & Mount Lofty!

Activities have been designed to promote fun, hands-on learning about plants, people and the environment, and parents are encouraged to book early – spots will sell out! All Children must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver at all times. Only children require bookings, not the adult.

Autumn Colours Mobile Photography *NEW* (9-13 year olds), $15, bookings essential via Eventbrite

Capture Mount Lofty Botanic Garden's stunning autum n display on your own mobile device! Learn about mobile device photography skills, macro photography using a 30x lens attachment (provided), and how to edit your photos using mobile apps while exploring the beautiful garden. Meet at the Chris Steele Scott Pavilion (near the Lower Carpark). Participants must download the free Snapseed app prior to the session.

Singing in the Rainforest *NEW* (5-12 year olds), $20, bookings essential via Eventbrite

Enjoy a musical adventure through Adelaide Botanic Garden! Meet amazing characters while you discover that there's more to the forest than the wood of the trees. Be reminded that rainforests are an important part of the natural world and places where stories are made, songs are sung and dreams go to dance. Starring Michael Mills as The Narrator, the tree-chopping Jeramiah Shadwell, Marvin Marley-Guardian of the World's Rainforests, Captain Melvin Kelvin of the Interplanetary Botanical Investigator Service, and other surprise characters! Meet at the northern end of the Bicentennial Conservatory at Adelaide Botanic Garden.

Garden Critters (6-12 year olds, 1 hr) $12, bookings essential via Eventbrite

Create cute critters to take home using curious botanic bits. Combine leaves, sticks and googly eyes to bring your imagined creature to life! Due to use of hot glue guns during workshop, parents/carers must work with their children at all times; children under 6 years cannot be admitted into the activity.Will be held in the Lecture Theatre of the Goodman Building, Hackney Road.

Making Fire, Making Glue (1 hour) free, no bookings required

Learn how Aboriginal people make fire using just what is around them in the Australian bush. Make your own glue from plants! Meet on the Schomburgk Pavilion on Tuesday 24 April, 1:30pm to 2:30pm, unless it’s raining, in which case it will be held in the Lecture Theatre of the Goodman Building.

Dreaming Story Telling (1 hour) free, no bookings required

Listen to Aboriginal Dreaming stories and understand what they can teach us about life. Learn how to identify tracks and traces in the environment. Meet at the Lecture Theatre, Goodman Building on Tuesday 17 April, 10:30am to 11:30am.
