To ensure our efforts to manage the environment are meeting the goals of our strategic plans, it is important that we monitor and report on our progress. We assess whether:
- the condition of natural resources are improving
- we have been successful in implementing the various NRM plans
- our projects are making a difference
- we can improve what we are doing.
Our progress so far
A broad summary of the condition of South Australia’s natural resources and the trends across the regions can be found in the State NRM Plan (as of 2012).
You can find more detailed information on the condition of the state’s natural resources in the state report cards. Find out more about the report cards.
More detailed progress at the regional level is available on the regional websites. Select a region to find out more:
Improving our progress
We are constantly working to improve the way we manage natural resources across the state. A number of guides and frameworks have been developed to help us monitor and report on the activities that are being carried out to ensure our resources are managed sustainably for the long term future.
The Guide for NRM Business Improvement is a tool to aid in the continuous improvement of how our state’s natural resources are governed and managed by key NRM groups.
Each of the regions also have a monitoring, evaluation, reporting and improvement framework to help improve their progress. Find out more on the regional websites:
