Appointments have been made to South Australia’s Coast Protection Board and the Dog and Cat Management Board.

The Coast Protection Board has appointed a new presiding member Allan Holmes, a new member Professor Patrick Hesp and reappointed Anita Crisp for another term.

The board is a collaborative independent body that facilitates the management of South Australia’s coast.

The Dog and Cat Management Board has appointed a new member Vicki Jacobs and reappointed existing members Dr Susan Hazel and Cr Janet Loveday.

The board works closely with key partner organisations and the State Government to improve dog and cat management in South Australia.

The Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources Deputy Chief Executive Tim Goodes said that the state was extremely fortunate to have so much expertise on both boards.

"The new and existing appointees bring considerable skills and understanding for the better management of our coasts and dog and cat management," Mr Goodes said.

"Allan Holmes is the previous DEWNR Chief Executive with extensive experience in environmental matters and has served on many government and non-government boards.

"Patrick Hesp is a Strategic Professor of Coastal Studies at Flinders University with extensive research experience in Australian and international coastal management.

"Vicki Jacobs has a long-standing interest and history of personal activism in cat management policy, as well as connections to the cat breeding and showing sectors, she will be a great asset to the Dog and Cat Management Board."
