An ancient sea cave in a cliff face

Tantanoola CavesTantanoola Cave is conveniently located on the Princes Highway between Millicent and Mount Gambier in the state's Limestone Coast.  This award winning cave is often described as the "Jewel of the South East" and consists of a large dolomite cavern with a spectacular array of glistening cave decoration.

In 1983 National Parks and Wildlife SA lowered the entrance of the cave and laid gently sloping pathways, making this one of Australia’s few wheelchair accessible caves.

Tantanoola Cave offers a unique "hosted experience". Visitors are provided with an introduction to the history and geology and can then enjoy the cave and  take photographs at their own leisure. The experience can be tailored to suit individual needs and is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Take advantage of the picturesque picnic grounds and the cliff top walking trail which offers panoramic views of the surrounding district.
