Established in 1991, Lyrup encompasses 2,000 ha along the floodplain on the northern side of the river opposite the township of Lyrup. The park is easily reached by turning off the Sturt Highway just past Berri and continuing down to the river where the park entrance is obvious. Just 230 km north east of Adelaide Lyrup provides wonderful opportunities to bird watch, fish, camp moor a boat or walk along the floodplain. Dogs on a leash are allowed in Lyrup Flats National Park.
