Healthy Parks, Healthy People

With almost 21 million ha set aside as parks for all, South Australians are blessed with an unparalleled heritage. We are committed to maintaining the health of these precious areas whilst ensuring that more South Australians visit them more often.

A group of canoeistsThe parks system now covers more than 21% per cent of South Australia, with many parks being of international importance due to their scenic landscapes, unique flora and fauna, and the visitor experiences and cultural heritage opportunities they provide.

Almost everyone's physical and mental wellbeing can be improved by visiting a park. To encourage South Australians to visit, to inspire them to play a role in their care and to provide 'healthy' places for body mind and soul, we have adopted a comprehensive program called Healthy Parks, Healthy People.

So if you want to:

  • be healthy and active
  • take time out, or
  • just relax and revitalise
