Park of the month - October 2017

Nature Play SA and National Parks SA have joined together to provide a range of fun and free events to be held at various locations within the iconic Flinders Chase National Park throughout the month of October. With a marine discovery exhibit, cubby making, ranger walks, bush biking and family eco art – there is something for everyone!

What's on

Coast & marine exhibition

Date: 30 September to 2 October 2017

Join our Coast and Marine team at their marine discovery exhibit to learn about underwater video imaging, and have a go filming underwater. Check out the coast and marine discovery table where you can learn about the plants and animals that live in and around our oceans and examine them under the microscope.

Scrubby Cubbies

Date: 30 September 2017

Nature Players and their families are invited to join us for some cubby making!

There will be plenty of sticks, branches and leaves to build your very own cubby in the park. Bring your picnic rugs to enjoy a picnic in your cubby.

Ranger guided walk

Date: 1 October 2017

Help celebrate the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail 1st Birthday and explore a section of the trail!

Join a Park Ranger for a guided walk along the Rocky River Hike section of the Wilderness Trail starting from the Rocky River Bridge on West Bay Road.

Bush biking

Date: 2 October 2017

Take your bike off road and tag along with a ranger as we follow one of the fire trails around the Flinders Chase Visitor precinct. There will be no cars, and plenty of cool things to see and do with sticks, rocks, ups and downs.

Family eco art experience

Parenting KI and Natural Resources Kangaroo Island will be teaming up to deliver a Family Eco Art Experience - come join us for Eco Art, where nature meets creativity and everyone plays a part!
