Belair National Park

Throughout the month of September Belair National Park is being celebrated as the Park of Month – an initiative between Nature Play SA and DEWNR.

Set in beautiful natural bushland, Belair National Park is just 25 minutes from Adelaide’s city centre. It is the ideal place to get active in the great outdoors. With diverse hikes along ridgetops, gullies and winding creeks, this national park offers an opportunity to play tennis and picnic with your family, take the kids to explore the adventure playground or discover some of the new mountain biking trails.

This is South Australia’s oldest national park, and is home to Old Government House – a significant heritage building. Also in the park is State Flora; the oldest plant nursery in SA, which is still going strong today. The park remains one of the few relatively undisturbed areas of native vegetation in the Adelaide Hills region, making it an important refuge for native plants and animals.

This year Belair National Park is celebrating its 125th anniversary – come and join the fun on 11 September at the Belair Open Day. With free entry on the day, join in with ranger-led family activities, free guided tours and food vendors.
