National Parks Consultative Committees
These voluntary groups of about 12 members are appointed by the Minister for Sustainability, Environment and Conservation. They represent a link between local communities, DEWNR and the Minister. There is a Consultative Committee in every part of the state.

Volunteering
Environmental volunteering, whether in parks, gardens, natural bushland or with our native animals, is great for mind, body and soul.
Anyone can volunteer. We have volunteer activities for every age group, nationality, skill and ability. You can work as an individual or work with a group. You can join a regular group or just participate occasionally. No experience is necessary - just wear clothes that can get dirty!

Friends Groups and Campground Hosts
Friends of Parks groups offer activities suitable for people of any age, gender, nationality, occupation and natural ability. There is something for everybody. No special qualifications are essential.

Campground Hosts
This program brings volunteers into the national parks campgrounds in many beautiful parts of South Australia. The hosts set up onsite at the park for an agreed length of time. They welcome visitors, help them to choose a site and settle in, provide information and generally make their visit special.

Healthy Parks, Healthy People
Healthy Parks, Healthy People is a DEWNR program that encourages people to enjoy themselves in the natural environment. We promote the physical, social and mental health benefits of visiting the state's parks and botanic gardens. Find out more:
