Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre National Park - current status 2014
As of 15 April 2014
Recent local rain over 8 - 10 April has led to about 25% surface coverage on Kati Thanda (Lake Eyre) South, with a thin film of water over parts of Kati Thanda (Lake Eyre) North. Unless there are follow up rains this will not last long due to this water being absorbed into the lake bed and evaporation.
There are no significant flows in creeks or rivers that may affect Kati Thanda (Lake Eyre).
The best way to see the enormity of Kati Thanda (Lake Eyre) is from the air. A number of tour operators offer ground and/or flight tours.
