Belair National Park upgrade
Long Gully Precinct upgrade
Facility upgrades are continuing in Belair National Park in 2014-15. Consultation has now closed for the next stage which is planned for Long Gully Precinct.
Long Gully Precinct will be completed in two stages and include:
- new and restored shelters
- new BBQ facilities
- new toilets
- improved car parking and access
- improved safety.
Stage one includes construction in Long Gully Precinct and will commence in 2014. This includes upgrades to BBQ shelters and toilet facilities along the picnic grounds of Long Gully. In addition, unsustainable tennis courts will be removed (courts 43, 44 and 45), the Heritage shelter at Willows Picnic Ground will be restored and selected areas of Minno Creek will be remediated.
Stage 2 will address the area to the west of Long Gully. Plans have been proposed for the Long Gully Pavilion, Volunteer Centre and Long Gully Residence, however are not finalised at present and are subject to funding, heritage advice and submissions made during consultation. Finalised plans will be announced in 2014-15.
