Fire danger closes parks

Date posted: 05 January 2018

National parks and reserves in the Mount Lofty Ranges, Mid North, Upper South East and Lower South East fire ban districts will be closed on Saturday, 6 January 2018, due to significant fire danger conditions forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology.

Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources Director Regional Programs Grant Pelton said the closures would begin at 12.01am and be in place until 11.59pm.

“We are closing parks in a number of fire danger districts in the interests of public safety during the predicted bushfire risk,” Mr Pelton said.

“Those people already in the park will be requested to leave for the day by 9.00am.
